Charting the transformation of a neglected, polluted and abandoned industrial corridor into one of the UK’s premier sport, leisure and nature destinations, attracting 7 million visits a year.
Based on a new book by Professor Tony Travers of the London School of Economics, this exhibition examines how the former industrial landscape changed over five decades into a tapestry of world-class open spaces, wildlife habitats and some of the best sports venues in the world, including three London 2012 legacy venues.
