Meeting London’s school needs

Wednesday 8 February 2017

09:00 - 13:00

New London Architecture, The Building Centre, 26 Store Street, London WC1E 7BT

Burntwood School - AHMM © Tim Soar

London is facing a dramatic shortage of school places, with a requirement for more than 62,934 new primary places and 47,430 new secondary school places over the next five years. NLA explores what steps can be taken now to ensure the future demands for school places are met.

This half-day NLA conference will investigate the future of our education system including future government funding policy and upcoming schools building programmes.

How can local authorities and the built environment sector respond with innovation and partnerships to help ensure London delivers the number of school places it needs? What new models are being explored? And how can we ensure good design sits at the forefront of future school building programmes?
