London’s Walking and Cycling Commissioner, Will Norman, will be joined by Transport for London; London Cycle Campaign; Cross River Partnership; and a panel of architects, engineers and consultants to assess the Mayor’s 25 year transport strategy and the plans for delivering Healthy Streets in the capital.

What new ideas and projects are coming forward? How do we take an integrated approach to walking, cycling and public transport to encourage Londoners to use a means of Active Travel? What plans are in place to make London a safer, more environmentally friendly city, that encourages healthier forms of transport?

This Summit is a key part of NLA’s year-long Transport & Infrastructure programme, for further information on the annual activity please click here.

We have a number of free places available for cycling or walking groups who would like to attend, please contact Lucie Murray on to find out how to claim a free place!

London needs ‘culture change’ on walking and cycling

London’s new transport strategy is the most ambitious that London - or almost any city like it – has ever seen. And the 25-year plan will be needed if the UK is to get out of its ‘serious inactivity crisis’, delivering safer and less polluted streets in the process. But a culture change is also needed to accompany infrastructural improvements if real progress can be made.
