How are new materials helping to deliver better buildings and projects for the capital? NLA presented a lively series of quick-fire pechakucha presentations hearing from London architects, designers and engineers on the new materials that are improving the efficiency, responsiveness and design of London’s buildings.
PechaKucha (ペチャクチャ) was devised in Tokyo in 2003 by the English architect Mark Dytham and has turned into a massive global celebration of design, with events happening in hundreds of cities around the world. Drawing its name from the Japanese term for the sound of "chit chat", it rests on a presentation format that is based on a simple idea: 20 images x 20 seconds.
Architects, designers and engineers took on the pechakucha challenge at Vision London, an event for architects, specifiers, clients and suppliers. In its first year, Vision London was the place where these communities were able to come together to discuss, debate and showcase the latest innovations and developments in architecture, design and the built environment. Vision is an event focusing on innovative building products, materials and technology and will provide ideas for new and inventive ways to achieve better building design and comply with changing legislation.
