NextGen Christmas Party

Friday 14 December 2018

This Tuesday, the NLA NextGen Christmas party, hosted in collaboration with City Property Association and Westminster Property Association (CWPA), brought together young professionals from across the industry to celebrate the festive session and share their ambitions for the coming year.

The evening, held in the NLA galleries at The Building Centre, kicked off with networking over mulled wine and mince pies and marked three years since the programme’s inception in 2016. NextGen is an NLA initiative which identifies and supports young talent within the industry, championing the professional development of the built environment’s future leaders.

Peter Murray, Chairman of NLA, gave a short welcome, praising the success of this year’s programme and thanking our longstanding NextGen champions, Gardiner & Theobald. This year the NLA programme has included speed mentoring sessions which brought together young professionals with established experts in the industry, working groups where NextGen members discussed issues relevant to them, and PechaKucha evenings that enabled NextGen to present their ideas and projects. Be sure to look out for lots more to come in 2019!

Rosie Day, Assistant Director at CWPA, then took the floor sharing CWPA’s support of young talent and highlighting their own initiatives that encourage and enable the next generation to thrive in the industry. Having only started their programme this year, they are keen to grow the community and deliver lots more NextGen events in the coming year. We’re looking forward to seeing more activity from them in the coming year!

If you'd like to be involved in the NextGen programme of events, please email Lucie Murray.
