Spoken Word at NLA for Step-Out Store Street

Store Street was alight with fire, music and dance last Friday night for Step-Out Store Street, Bloomsbury Festival’s annual Friday night party. At The Building Centre, the crowds were invited in to a special evening of Spoken Word around the New London Model, hosted by New London Architecture and the Built Environment Trust.

Housing for the third age

London needs a concerted campaign ‘on a grand scale’ and a widespread change of mindset if it is to avoid a ‘tidal wave’ of housing need from older people. The profession has failed to provide enough high quality, affordable, and flexible accommodation for its older citizens, must learn from countries like Denmark, Holland and Germany, and the city must better appreciate the widespread benefits and more balanced communities that intergenerational housing can bring.

Next London Plan to protect the capital’s workspaces

The next London Plan will include greater protection for the capital’s workspaces against major threats including permitted development rights. That was according to Deputy Mayor for Regeneration, Planning and Skills Jules Pipe last night as he launched NLA’s new insight study, exhibition, and programme of events on the fast changing world of work, WRK/LDN.

Bike ride to Birmingham - Raising money for Construction Youth Trust

NLA chairman Peter Murray, Wates Director Andy Wates, Studio Egret West's Christophe Egret, and dRMM Architects Director and design Chair of HS2 Sadie Morgan are cycling 125.7 miles from London to Birmingham on October 17th to raise money for Construction Youth Trust (CYT).
