Final designs for eight of the central Crossrail stations were unveiled by Mayor of London Boris Johnson and Rail Minister Theresa Villiers at the opening of a new public exhibition at NLA this morning.

The unveiling of the station designs is the next major milestone for Crossrail, following the government's spending review in October, which confirmed that funding for the project would go ahead. Once complete in 2018, Crossrail will be the largest addition to the transport network in London and the South East for 50 years.

Designs for the new stations at Bond Street, Canary Wharf, Custom House, Farringdon, Liverpool Street, Paddington, Tottenham Court Road and Whitechapel are on display at NLA until 8th December: Crossrail: Shaping the future of London
